Allotment Plot 94

We have had our allotment, about 5 minutes walk from our house, since June 2004.  The first summer was hard going with a new baby and a plot that hadn't been properly cultivated for 7 or 8 years.  The weeds were knee-high over the whole plot, but we put our backs into it and after last year's successful (to a degree) growing season, we are starting this spring with far fewer weeds, a neatly laid out plot, and a couple of year's experience behind us.

Our allotment divided into 4 beds for rotation, a strawberry bed, and a bed with blackcurrants, redcurrants and raspberries.

This is the plan for 2006's 4 rotational vegetable beds:

Bed 1

White & red cabbages, cauliflowers, calabreses, lettuces and chinese cabbages.

Bed 2

Peas, sugarsnap peas, french beans, salad onions, red onions, garlic, leeks and lettuces.

Bed 3

Tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and red peppers.

Bed 4

Celery, sweetcorn, leaf beet, silver beet, wild rocket, beetroot and carrots.
